DeWitt Public Library Local History Room

  The DeWitt Public Library local history room is available during regular library hours.  Most material is available on shelves. Our staff does not do research, but will assist you while you are in the library.  The library does, however, have a cooperative agreement with the Clinton County Historical Society Genealogists.  They will do research for you for a fee.   You can email requests to ccgensoc@yahoo.com

    Photographs

·         Dewitt Area Photograph Collection -- With well over 1,000 vintage images, the ever-growing Dewitt Public Library photography collection is perhaps the best documentation of this rapidly changing community.  Indexed photocopies of nearly all our photographs are available for public viewing.  Original photographs and negatives are housed in coded acid-free folders and stored in archival boxes.  These are available for use to researchers within the local history room upon request.
