Katheryn Hankey Seifert

Katheryn Hankey Seifert was
born in Rochester, N. Y., May 10, 1863 and died March 7, 1935, age 71
years. When a small child her parents moved to Ohio and at the
age of 5 she moved with them to the farm home in Michigan, where she
spent the greater part of her life. In 1911 she was married to
John E. Seifert. They made their home in Mt. Pleasant until Mr.
Seifert's death in July, 1923 when Mrs. Seifert returned to her farm
home in Greenbush where the remaining years of her life were
spent. She had been in failing health for two years, but was not
confined to her bed until six weeks previous to her death when she
suffered a stroke of paralysis. She was a member of the
Evangelical L. A. S. of Eureka.
She was devoted to her home and will be greatly missed by
the family and many friends who are left to mourn her departure.
Besides the son, Peter Hankey and family, she leaves two sisters, Mrs.
Mary Gilson of Greenbush and Mrs. Anna Drew of Ovid, and four brothers,
John, Frank and Edward of Greenbush and Charles of Leslie.
Funeral services were held from the home Sunday, March 10,
Rev. Holtz officiating. Burial in Eureka cemetery.
