Death Takes Mrs. Lena
Nuffer, 76; Rites At Fowler
Fowler--Mrs. Lena Wilhelmina Nuffer died
Sunday morning, Feb. 25, having reached the age of 76 years. She
was born March 28, 1863, the daughter of Frederick Speerbrecker and his
wife Wilhelmina, nee Shultz. In early infancy she was baptized in
the Christian faith and her confirmation took place on May 13,
1877. She was confirmed by Rev. J. Witte.
On
Sept. 28, 1880, she was united in marriage to Mathias Nuffer and to
them four children were born, three surviving and one having passed
away in infancy.
She
leaves one daughter, Helen Martin of Bengal township; two sons, Anthony
Nuffer of Lansing and Walter of Maple Rapids; one brother, Charles
Speerbrecker of Belleview; two sisters, Mrs. Floyd Jason of Perry and
Mrs. Wm. Hoffman of Lansing; one grandchild, John Nuffer, of Bengal
township, other relatives and many friends. Besides her husband
who passed away on Dec. 5, 1930, a son, Paul, also preceeded her in
death.
She was
a faithful member of the St. Paul's Lutheran church from which she was
buried. Rev. Arthur F. Boyer officiated and burial was made in
the Riley Lutheran cemetery.
