MRS. MINA FROST OLD EAGLE
RESIDENT
DIED AT HOME OF HER
DAUGHTER IN TECUMSEH--BURIED IN PORTLAND
The remains of Mrs. Mina
Frost were brought to Portland, Thursday, Apri 12, from Tecumseh, and
taken to the home of her sister-in-law, Mrs. Mary Whitlock.
Funeral services were held at the Congregational church on Friday
afternoon, Rev. W. H. Sketelbury, officiating. Burial was in
Portland cemetery.
Mrs. Frost was for 30 years a resident of Eagle township, living on a
farm south of Brokaw's corners. Her husband died there October 2,
1908, and she then moved to Grand Ledge where her daughter, Mrs.
Elizabeth Dravenstatt resided. A few months ago the daughter
married John S. Temple and the family went to Tecumseh to live.
Mrs. Frost was first taken with the grip, which developed into
pneumonia, causing her death Tuesday last.
Mina Whitlock was her maiden name, and she was born in Huron, N. Y.,
March 24, 1835. She married Martin Frost January 10th, 1856, at
Red Creek, N. Y., and in 1880 they came to Portland. In the fall
of the same year they moved to the farm in Eagle, remaining there until
Mr. Frost's death.
