Came to Bengal Township in 1875; Funeral Held Monday
Fred
K. Foster, 82, pioneer Clinton county farmer, died Saturday, Jan. 16,
at the home of his adoped daughter, Mrs. Allen Sperry of Bingham
township. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the
Osgood funeral home. Rev. A. L. Spafford officiated, and burial
was made in Mt. Rest cemetery.
He was born Nov. 30, 1854, at
LaPorte, Ohio. His parents were Isaac B. Foster, a native of New
York state, and Hannah Taylor Foster. At the age of 21 he came to
Michigan and located in Bengal township.
In 1876 he was united in
marriage to Joanna Bray, who died 11 years later. In September,
1889, he took as his wife, Della Blizzard of Olive township. Her
death occurred three years ago.
Surviving, besides the daughter,
are two brothers, Dewitt of Manton, and Charles of Elyria. He
also leaves two nephews and three nieces.
