Frances A. (Kipp) Ball HIGHLY ESTEEMED LADY PASSES AWAY MRS. C. E. BALL, FOR MANY YEARS A RESIDENT OF ST. JOHNS, DIED MONDAY MORNING. Mrs. C. E. Ball passed away at her home on Cass street, Monday morning about 2 o'clock after an illness of five months.  A large number attended the funeral Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock, to pay their last respects to the deceased.  A wealth of flowers covered the casket and adorned the house.  Rev. Amos Watkins read the Episcopal service, and the choir of the Episcopal church sang "Lead Kindly Light" and "Nearer My God to Thee," and George Judd sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere."  Very many of those present accompanied the remains to the cemetery. Among those from ou t of town who attended the funeral were Benjamin Ball and wife and G. Will Ball, Mrs. Herbert Dow and son, Willard of Midland, Mrs. Ida Gordon of Flint, and Mr. and Mrs. John Mock of Laingsburg. Interment was made in Mt. Rest cemetery. Francis A. Kipp was born January 12, 1849, in Atlas, Michigan.  When a small child, she moved with her parents to the Colony, and later to St. Johns which has since been her home.  In 1874, she was united in marriage to Cooley E. Ball, who with one daughter, Mrs. Arthur E. Wilson, survive. Mrs. Ball was a highly cultured woman, much loved and esteemed by all who knew her.  She was a member of the St. Johns Episcopal church.
